The town Ryki was founded in 14th century, now it is the seat of
the administrative district. Ryki is a town located on the border
of three Polish geographical regions: Lubelszczyzna, Podlasie and
Mazowsze. The town’s location on the motoring way Warsaw – Lublin
(100 km from Warsaw), on the railway line Dęblin – Łuków, and proximity
of the airport of Dęblin, made Ryki an important centre of more
than just local importance.
The nearness of border ensures the easy distribution of goods for
markets of whole Europe.
Ryki has the certification “Investor Friendly Gmina”.
Population of the municipality of Ryki is at 21 675, while the total
acreage is 161.9 square km.
Local processing companies, most of them located in the town, represent
the following sectors:
processing of fruit and vegetables,
milk processing,
bakeries,
machinery (heating/ventilation equipment),
textile (manufacturing of summer & winter clothes),
chemical (production of grave candles/lights).
